Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) at Hopkins Demonstration Forrest
October 19, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
FreeJamboree-on-the-Air, or JOTA, is the largest Scouting event in the world.
Scouts around the world will use amateur radio to connect with each other with the assistance of licensed ham radio operators. All scouts from Cubs to Venturers can join in the fun.
For more information about JOTA see:
The South Portland Amateur Radio Club, SPARC, will be hosting JOTA at two locations this year. This event sign-up is for the Hopkins Demonstration Forest located in Oregon City; the other location will be at the SPARC headquarters at DCS Morgan in Canby. This location is an outdoor venue (there is covered picnic tables and indoor space in the event of bad weather). The radios will operate from 10 AM – 5 PM on Saturday to allow Scouts to make contact with other Scouts participating in JOTA. Fox hunting (finding hidden transmitters) will be available while you visit.
Attendance at this event is free. JOTA patches ($5) are available for order (order here).
